Riot Games is taking steps to adjust the power of the recently released League of Legends champion, Aurelion Sol. The lead designer, Matt “Phroxzon” Leung-Harrison, announced changes in a hotfix aimed at reducing the scaling strength and overall effectiveness of the Star Forger, who currently boasts a 51% win rate at Platinum rank and above, with one of the highest pick rates in the game according to LoLalytics.
Aurelion Sol will see a decrease in his base health per level, and reductions in the AP ratio for his Breath of Light ability. His main crowd control ability, Singularity, will also receive a nerf with a 15% decrease in its AP ratio, as well as a reduction in the number of stacks he gains from jungle monster camps.
His ultimate ability, Falling Star, will also be adjusted with a nerf to its shockwave, reducing the subsequent slow from 75% to 50%. These changes are meant to weaken his power in the later stages of the game, and mitigate the amount of damage he can inflict once he obtains multiple items.
On the other hand, Annie will receive several quick nerfs to her durability, including a decrease in her armor per level from 5.2 to 4.7. The cost of her Molten Shield will increase with each level, and the shield’s potency will receive a 15% reduction in AP.
